Navraatri means ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit; ‘nava’ meaning nine and ‘raatri’ meaning nights. It is a festival that spans nine nights (and ten days) and is celebrated every year in the autumn of India. Theoretically, there are four seasonal Navraatri. However, in practice, it is the post-monsoon autumn festival called Sharada Navraatri that is the most observed in the honour of the divine feminine Shakti. Every day of Navraatri is dedicated to one avatar of Devi Shakti and has a story associated with it. To enjoy these stories, click on the link of your choice. Happy Listening!
